A Year in Review with SLSD

In 2023, Sister League received immense support from the San Diego community. Join us in revisiting some of SLSD’s biggest events of 2023!

On May 20th, SLSD partnered with Kendra Scott for an in-store giveback event – 20% of every purchase at the San Diego Fashion Valley location went towards SLSD!

On June 1st, CBS featured Sister League’s very own Executive Director Nuria Haro-Lopez on their “Working for the Community Series.” Nuria highlighted the extensive repairs Sister League needed for the homes to function properly such as a new roof, new furniture, and much more. Not long after, Jerome’s furniture reached out so graciously offering to provide Sister League with BRAND NEW couches, dressers, and patio furniture. Antis Roofing also spoke up, donating their precious time and materials for a BRAND NEW roof for the 4th Avenue home.

On June 23rd, Sister League hosted an open house for “friends of the League” and other current and prospective donors. A Cup of Joy Coffee donated delicious coffee drinks. In the month of August, Yoga Arts designated Sister League as the recipient of their Thursday evening donation-based yoga classes.

The League’s most successful gala yet, The Rise Up Gala, was held in October. An estimated 200 people attended! The donations received from the Gala made and will continue to make a mighty impact on the lives of SLSD residents.

Last but not least, Sister League’s 12 Days of Giving event was a massive success. Each day, different categories of donations were presented on the League’s Instagram stories. Followers were receptive, and Sister League received many donations that made the residents’ holiday season all the more special!
