A message from the Executive Director

Like every flourishing garden, meaningful change begins with a single seed. For more than 80 years, Sister League of San Diego has planted seeds of hope by providing women experiencing homelessness with a safe place to heal, rebuild, and grow. Thanks to the compassion of our supporters, those seeds have blossomed into countless stories of resilience and new beginnings.
It is with that same spirit of growth that I invite you to partner with us for the 2026 Rise Up! Garden Gala. This year's celebration reflects not only the journeys of the women we serve, but also the remarkable evolution of our own community of supporters. What began as a fundraising event has blossomed into a vibrant gathering of neighbors, business leaders, philanthropists, and advocates, all united by the belief that every woman deserves the opportunity to flourish.
Since 1942, Sister League has remained steadfast in its mission to provide safe, supportive transitional housing for women in need. Today, our two historic homes serve women ages 18 and older who are navigating challenges including trauma, domestic violence, mental health conditions, and substance use. While every woman's story is different, each arrives seeking the same thing: the chance to build a brighter future.
That transformation is only possible because of partners who choose to invest in hope. As our gala continues to bloom, so does the community standing behind it. We are deeply grateful to the sponsors who have nurtured Sister League throughout the years and helped our event grow into what it is today. Your generosity has laid the foundation for this next chapter, and we are excited to welcome new partners who share our vision of a stronger, more compassionate San Diego.
