The Rise Up! Gala is Sister League's annual fundraising event featuring live music by Perfect Blend Duo, an open bar, tray-passed hors d’oeuvres with savory stations, and live and silent auctions amid gorgeous downtown views.
Your support helps to raise crucial funds to support SLSD’s 80-year mission: to provide transitional housing combined with supportive services that foster confidence, self-esteem, and independence to women experiencing homelessness.

A message from the Executive Director

I’m thrilled to announce that Sister League’s Annual Rise Up! Gala will be held on October 6th, 2024. The Rise Up! Gala emerged from our community’s remarkable ability to rise up together and drive transformative change for San Diego’s most vulnerable citizens. Sister League of San Diego is dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness. The League’s doors have been open since 1942, and while the population served has shifted through the years based on community need, we remain focused on our core mission: safe, transitional housing paired with supportive services. This dual approach has proven to be a promising solution to the homeless crisis as it offers our vulnerable residents the space, time and support needed to regain their independence.
We currently provide housing for women aged 18 and up with various mental health diagnoses, ranging from anxiety and depression to substance use to schizoaffective disorders and many others. Regardless of their background or diagnosis, all our residents share a common basic need: a safe place to rest their head every night. Providing shelter and daily nourishment to 30 women in our two historic homes is no small feat. We cannot accomplish this alone and warmly welcome your support.
